Welcome, Dr. Tim Williams to Universität Hohenheim! [24.04.25]
Tim joined the BEATLE team in March 2025 as a Senior Scientist at the Department for Ecological-Economic Policy Modelling. His work will focus on using simulation models to evaluate the joint ecological and economic impacts of transitions to organic agriculture.
Tim is an interdisciplinary researcher with experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods, aiming to understand how agricultural and food systems can transition to become more sustainable and equitable.
Before joining Hohenheim, Tim worked as an Environmental Modeller at Climate Farmers, developing methodologies to quantify carbon sequestration on regenerative farms. He also held a postdoctoral position at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where his research focused on the actor networks and power dynamics shaping European agriculture. He holds a PhD in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
